Rotary Youth Leadership Awards

Annually, the Lake Wylie Rotary Club awards and sponsors a two students to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (“RYLA”).      For more than 35 years, Rotary Clubs throughout the Rotary District have participated in a motivational, leadership training, and free enterprise seminar for rising high school juniors and seniors. 

The week-long seminar is designed to help the delegates develop sound leadership techniques for their daily use in school and extracurricular activities, as well as in life.     One of the biggest benefits students have that attend RYLA is the personal growth and development through interaction with peers and outstanding business, political and community leaders.   The program is held at Erskine College in Due West, SC.   In addition, each student delegate will receive a $1,000 per year RYLA Scholarship at Erskine College, if they choose to attend the school.
